Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

The State of Florida requires every vehicle owner to carry $10,000.00 in Personal Injury Protection (”PIP”) also known as “no-fault” insurance. It provides compensation for medical benefits, lost wages, and death benefits to individuals who are injured in an automobile accident, regardless of fault. PIP will even cover your medical expenses if you were a bicyclist or a pedestrian and were injured as a result of an automobile accident. PIP insurance is primary over other types of insurance including health insurance.

PIP pays up to $10,000.00 for reasonable, related, and medically necessary treatment. In order to take advantage of PIP benefits in the State of Florida, you MUST receive medical treatment within 14 days of the accident.

In most instances, a medical provider will bill the injured parties PIP insurance. Although PIP was designed to provide the medical provider with swift and automatic payment from the insurance company, many times medical providers claims are either denied or underpaid. At Seth M. Alper, P.A. we represent multi-specialty facilities, chiropractors, physical therapists, medical doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, MRI facilities, and other physicians in recovering denied or wrongfully underpaid PIP benefits from the insurance company.

PIP is a moving target, and the laws and policies are constantly changing. Seth M. Alper, P.A. is on the forefront of litigating PIP claims. Seth has a plethora of experience representing insurance companies. This provides Seth’s clients invaluable knowledge when processing and litigating their PIP claims.
